This month with Buy Local
Join Buy Local Savannah for its monthly luncheon on Thursday, April 28 from 11 AM–1 PM at Cohen’s Re
treat, located at 5715 Skidaway Road in Savannah. This month’s guest speaker is Lieutenant Colonel Stephan Bolton, Garrison Commander of Hunter Army Airfield. Lt. Col. Bolton will be speaking about best practices for hiring and employing veterans, and about the strong leadership and project management skills that veterans can bring to the workplace.
Lieutenant Colonel Stephan Bolton is a US Army Special Forces officer with 27 years of active service. In July, 2020, he began his current role as the Garrison Commander of Hunter Army Airfield. In this position, he serves a community of more than 13,000 military and defense civilians and their families in the heart of Savannah, Georgia.
Over three decades in uniform, he has led small and mid-sized enterprises employed to support US foreign policy in peacetime, combat, and the gray areas in between. Since earning his Green Beret in 1994, Lt. Col. Bolton has deployed to more than a dozen countries on five continents. He has served as technical expert, trainer, advisor, operations officer, strategist, and leader in a variety of multinational and interagency contexts. He is interested in building purpose-driven teams and lives to wrestle with “wicked” problems in complex, human-centered systems.
“Buy Local is honored that Lt. Col. Bolton will be joining us this month,” said Michelle Rouzer, 2022 President of Buy Local Savannah. “Buy Local members can look forward to advice for interviewing and hiring veterans, such as learning what to look for in a military résumé and how to equate military and civilian job skills.”
Luncheon tickets are $25 for Buy Local members and $40 for nonmembers and can be purchased at buylocalsavannah.com/luncheon-registration. Seating is limited and this event is expected to sell out, so those interested in attending are encouraged to register now.
