Our Golden Coast, a Supporter Exhibition at Sulfur Studios, will present a collection of works inspired by the coastal region in Georgia. Our Golden Coast is an exploration and rumination on the beauty and fragility of our magical coastline. This exhibition will highlight our community of Artist Supporters through work that considers the importance and history of the marshes, waterways, islands, and beaches that make living in Savannah so wonderful.
Artists are asked to consider any or all of the following: What memories and emotions do you associate with the coastal region? What does the Gullah-Geechee Corridor mean to you? What environmental and ecological concerns do you have for Savannah’s waterways? What myths of the sea make their way into your imagination? What colors do you associate with the coast? What plants and animals inhabit these fragile ecosystems? These prompts are just starting points - creative interpretations in all media are encouraged.
Artists may submit up to 3 works. Submissions are due by 11:59 PM on May 20th, 2022. Artists will be notified of accepted works by May 23rd, and accepted artworks may be dropped off from June 16th - 25th during the gallery’s open hours (TH - SUN, 12 - 5PM).

Our Golden Coast will be on display in the Gallery at Sulfur Studios from June 30th - July 23rd 2022, with an Opening Reception on Friday, July 1st from 5 - 9PM in conjunction with First Fridays in Starland (more details to follow).
